Google Labs is developing an accessible web search. A blind developer at Google helped create this new search tool. It's supposed to prioritize the search results by how gracefully the Web pages degrade. It also favors sites with alt tag information for images or few images. You can find out more about this search tool in Google's FAQ. It's imperfect, but an interesting start. I'd eventually like to see this capability added to Google's standard search. Rewarding accessible sites by improving their page rank would provide greater incentive for the private sector to focus on accessibility.
